o tonight I had a little more time to play but on my way to work I discovered a crap load of feedback coming though the speaker and tonight I found the issue. There are two looms and one hooks in to the other to get round the bose system but it is the secondary loom which is picking up the noise.
Image
Loom on the left was the issue.

So to get round the issue I used my hi low speaker adapters and fed off the main loom speaker outputs.

Here's a video of the unit in action

If I get time I will lost all the bits needed with links but this unit was bose compliant but for some reason the unit was giving dreadful engine noise so I bypassed the issue but I will list those parts with the rest.

That's not an uncommon problem with aftermarket ICE installs in Audis especially RS4s.

Remember the head unit is in the dash and the amp is in the boot, so what you can get is a great big earth loop comprising the RCA cables and the body of the car. With the battery in the boot and the body of the car used as the battery return the problem is worse in RS4s than in A4s or S4s.

I had the same problem. I ran a nice thick earth cable from the battery straight to the stereo so the amp and head unit had the same earth but it made little difference. In the end an inline suppressor was the only way I could find to fix it.

Suppressor is what I was after but no one had one but will order one on ebay and see if I can swap back.

Update:

Plus:
The unit been working well and the sound quality when using PowerAmp app is amazing, I have never heard the Bose sound so good.
Touch screen is so refreshing and I now use WAZE for my GPS program which I love, I now have full internet abilities if needed and can download music on command or with teamviewer software on my PC and Stereo and can download straight from my PC.

Bad:
Very tight fit behind the unit
Buttons and drink holder get stuck (need to look and see if I can adjust)
Radio sound quality lacks base (looking to switch to DAB) but tunes in great also this may get resoled once I root the unit and install a different EQ
The Bose part of the loom caused a load of engine noise in the system which I have been told is a issue possibly caused by the battery being in the boot but I have got round that with the hi/lo converters.

Conclusion todate

Is this better than the aging RSN-E......... hell yes
will I switch back.......... never
Is it perfect........ No

I would look for the new 5.1 version with dab built in.

They mention everything but ram which is strange, I would not go with anything less than 2gb on these new units.

That is very strange. You are right! I missed that info. Messaged the seller.
The older on 4.4.4 only has 1gb of ram.
