KW Adjustable Springs
KW Adjustable Springs
I am sure this subject has been covered before, so apologies for the repeat.
Does anyone know whether it's possible to change the front springs with the strut still attached to the DRC flexi pipe? There was a thread here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=97543 by Voyager162 and he states that it is possible to do this, as per his post on page 2 about half way down. Unfortunately Voyager162 hasn't logged on to the forum for a couple of years, so I can't contact him directly.
Does anyone know whether this is possible?
Many thanks in advance.

Re: KW Adjustable Springs
I've heard people say they changed them without needing a DRC recharge so it must be possible. I assume removing the flexi would necessitate a recharge?
Re: KW Adjustable Springs
Yes, if the flexi is removed, then the DRC is depressurised.
If someone could confirm that it's possible to drop the strut sufficiently to undo the top mount with spring clamps fitted, and then remove the spring, this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure Martay did his himself like that.
Didn't Rick fit his own too.
If you don't get any confirmation here soon then try PM'ing them both.

Thanks Mike for your help.
Re: KW Adjustable Springs
I've done mine with it still attached to the car, the flexi is a lot stiffer than i thought it would be and its rather awkward to get it in the right position. I had a few planks of wood to make sure the weight was off the flexi which helped a bit too. Good luck
Re: KW Adjustable Springs
Thanks very much for that, Jotter.
The next question is, does anyone have one of these kits available secondhand?

Re: KW Adjustable Springs
There'd have been a death (or at least a missing limb) involved if I'd done it myself, but my mechanic mate that fitted mine did all 4 without disconnecting the DRC. 100% possible.

Yeah that's what I meant (but I can see that is not how it read).MartayMcFly wrote:There'd have been a death (or at least a missing limb) involved if I'd done it myself, but my mechanic mate that fitted mine did all 4 without disconnecting the DRC. 100% possible.
