North west servicing/specialists

Post by Misfit » Mon Jun 22, 2015 9:10 pm

Hi guys,
Totally new to this, my B7 RS4 arrives tomorrow :blackrs4:
Can any of you advise on a good specialist in the North West, I'm near to Morecambe?
Should I go to main dealers for checking it?
Any advice for piece of mind and good care/running as I want this car long term? :biggrin3:
Cheers for all the help you can give me

My local Audi dealership do a 'free health check'. They did my B7 when I got it and it came back with 2 A4 pages of things that it needed to have done totalling £5000. A lot of the stuff didn't actually need doing at all, or could be done for free (ie changing a fuse for the cigarette lighter), so it wasn't really 'free'. The dealerships will (in the most part) try to have your pants down.

As for day to day good care - the usual - use good quality fuel (V Power etc), keep an eye on the usual things to go wrong (aux rads, oil cooler pipes, vac leaks etc) and you won't go far wrong.

What I would suggest - start a slush fund (unless you have 000's spare and easily accessible already) for when the bills do come (brake pads and disks, clutch etc)
CURRENT: Montecarlo Blue Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifolglio, 2.9ltr bi-turbo, 510bhp
PREVIOUS: Volvo V60 Polestar, build number 149/700 worldwide - 3ltr straight 6 turbo. 350bhp remapped to 400bhp. Only one of 120 in the UK
PREVIOUS: Misano red B7 saloon, stage 2 map to 425bhp, manifold flap delete, KW V3 coilovers.
