This time last year i bought Ginos old RS4, for one reason or another i had to sell it. I since owned a audi A7 Bi turbo TDI, and a 2009 RS6.
The RS6 was nice but it had no edge, it was pure speed but didnt feel special? Anyhow more recently i have been in between cars and i just thought you know what, i miss having a nice car so i started to look for a rs4 again, this time for keeps.
I put a post on here and checked ebay / auto trader / pistonheads often and within a few days was offered this by a forum member, no posts only a lurker but a real sound guy none the less. It was also owned by a forum member before hand too.
Shes a Cat D, front end. History is a little patchy as to whos done what and when so im finding out info as i go.
What i know now is
2006 RS4 Avant
Sprint Blue
20" RS5 wheels
JC Weld Fab exhaust
PS9 coilovers
Yellowstuff pads
buckets
flat bottom wheel
51k miles
I did not pay fortunes for her, but enough. Could do with being stripped back down to check the repair carried out and then have at least the bumper painted again, ideally both wings the bonnet and bumper, the gaps are out at present but i am told its because the front bumper and lights were off recently for a air con problem and they were litrally slapped back on....
The car drives as good as my old one, a bit tough for first when cold but i read thats normal.
She has a EML light on and its a 02 sensor, i am not sure if this is because the pre cats were knocked though (still trying to find out if they are).
Shes a little heavy on fuel, and smells rich.
So the plan is, take her to MRC,
full service
carbon clean
remove front bumper and check alls working ok and looks ok where repaired
stage 2 remap
cold start delete
I want to do the carbon clean myself as per others on the forum but i have not got the time nor energy at the moment plus i want the car checked out by them and to sort the eml light so may as well have them do it for now and then i will do again as and when required. That was were mapping a good engine rather than a poor performing one from the start.
I had a milltek fitted to my last rs4, I can tell you right now the JC Weld fab is in a different world for noise, it may not suit all as its fairly tinny compared to a deep noise but it sounds amazing to me.
I am very unsure of the 20's, i do like them but they look a bit big, I will also raise the car around 1cm all around i think.
a few pics after a decent clean and polish, glaze and wax today. In the next month i will clay her and start again

and on the drive with my other car, 6.2 litre v8 diesel...

cheers
Ross
