steering wheel bluetooth problems??

Post by Rick_RS4 » Sun May 24, 2015 5:56 pm

Yesterday I had to remove my wheel to straighten it up as when I carbon ed it I fitted slightly wonky.

So I did that and also the day before I played with the coding so I could get all the contacts up on the rnse.

I fitted the wheel back together this morning. All working bluetooth.

Then go out in it today and it can't find the module? ? When I unplug it it says

"Telephone not available"

I can go into it on Vag Com still but won't find it.

Has the FBSW got anything to do with it ??

Thanks

Check the coding and fault codes on both the RNS-E and the BT module.

No faults on the bluetooth

Coding is 0010302
Audi
Comfort
Rnse diagnostics via can
no voice control
English

Thing is I've not changed any coding only fitted the wheel. When I moved the wheel it was too much. Like pointing at 1 but going straight the traction light came on and the bluetooth wasn't on.

maybe these are not linked and just coincidence

So I removed the wheel again and checked as I had a fault code about steering angle.

Ross tech technical said it could be the slip disk. I took the wheel off and span the disk a little then put it back on and searched for the module.

And up it came. That to me is very weird?

I've not fitted the airbag again yet but it's back on at the minute.

Glad you got it back. Mine randomly gave the "Telephone not available" message some time back although curiously I could make calls using the phone (worked as a very basic hands free kit).

I didn't check for errors but rebooted the RNS-E reestablished full connection with the phone via BT so could see contacts etc. again.

If you have the problem after replacing your airbag I would restart the RNS-E first (hold outer two buttons down until it restarts but do check this bit first).
