Front Center Arm Rest Query

Post by anawaz » Thu May 21, 2015 2:35 pm

Is this option standard on RS4 B7s ?

I was reading B7 Avant spec listed on PH, but having viewed the images couldn't see the arm rest.

look like nice car though. going for strong money.

I thought armrest was standard and it may be lifted all the way up and the angle of the shot is obscuring it as I can sort of make something out but not sure its the armrest.

Front Armrest was a no cost option when I ordered my car in Spring 2007.

It's a pain in the hole due to the bad design, mine is kept up all the time and I wouldn't miss it!

Same here , sits to low and just gets in the way . my 4 year old son just uses it as a step to get in the front when playing in it :biggrin3:

I was going to get one retro fitted but all the guys on here said it was a waste of time and blocks the hand brake so I didn't bother.

Ditto!!!. After hearing that people are leaving them up out of the way or they wouldn't miss them, I shall not bother either!!!

I love the armrest, find it very comfortable. Its also a great place to keep my sunglasses and Walther PPK. :sekret:

As it was a no-cost option I ticked th box, but TBH I just use it to keep charging leads and spare fuses.

I've tried to use it as an armrest a couple of times but I found that I don't have the double jointed wrists necessary to change gear when it's down plus it's impossible to put the handbrake on when it's down (and you should use the handbrake whenever a pause becomes a wait- i.e after a few seconds stationary - so you don't glare the driver behind with your brake lights, or roll back into them while your foot moves from brake to throttle).

It does seem to depend a lot of your body type. I find it perfect and wouldn't be without it(I'm tall, long limbs) but I know when others have driven the car it gets in their way.
