Re: devastated !!!!
Gutting...could probably be machine polished out but having read this link below recently, it does seem to turn the old myth on its head?

Re: devastated !!!!
Yeah I hope so, I've got a local detailer having a look at it Friday....I can't cope with this happening everytime the car is out in the open though. I could understand if I'd left it 2-3 days but in a single work day !!!
Re: devastated !!!!
A wee trick I was shown by a valeter to remove bird etching on paintwork; use the wife's hairdryer.
Use the hairdryer to heat the clearcoat a little. I hold it about 3 inches off the affected area on a high heat setting. The marks usually disappear within 10 seconds. Start gently, but a hairdryer is less likely to have a negative affect than the heatgun the valeter used.

Re: devastated !!!!
But a bottle of black hole remove it by hand in 5 mins best £12 you will spend
Re: devastated !!!!
Ill try the hairdryer trick tonight I think, Has anyone tried Meguiers ultimate compound is that similar to the poorboys black hole?
Re: devastated !!!!
Eeeesh, nasty. Compound will get rid, but you will have to use a rotary to get any decent effect. The best way is some 4000 grit, soaked in soapy water and do it gently, constantly keeping it wet, then rotary it off with your stages of compound.jamiedal wrote:Ill try the hairdryer trick tonight I think, Has anyone tried Meguiers ultimate compound is that similar to the poorboys black hole?
I don't often leave my car out all day in the direct sun, but I always carry a bottle of quick detailer in the boot (with all my other cleaning cr*p) just in case - it's deffo saved me a couple times.
Not heard of the hair dryer trick though - deffo worth a go first

I always keep a box of the autoglm bird dropping wipes in my boot:

it seems to dissolve the baked on stuff very well if you place the wipe on for a minute.
can you clay the marks out ? wet sanding seems quite abrasive ?

Firstly I would cry - and then, I would cry, probably sob my way to the nearest jet wash, drive it for hours to dry it out.... Then under strong light asses the damage.pixsaudisex2 wrote:You wanna be thankful you dont leave work to find this

Re: devastated !!!!
+1, always keep a box or 2 in the glovebox for instant crap removal. Not meet a crap they couldn't shift yet. Just need to be careful you don't rub too hard or you'll end up scratching the paint with hardened lumps of poo.CaptainLeadFoot wrote:I always keep a box of the autoglm bird dropping wipes in my boot:

Re: devastated !!!!
I place a folded wet kitchen wipe on top of the bird sh1t. Leave it for a few minutes and then gently wipe it off. Works a treat.
