Alu grille surround and boot trim - repaint/replace?

My silver grille surround is virtually green around the bottom, will not clean up. I figured it must be the same type of material as the boot lid strip so just cheap painted plastic...

Had a quote from an indy, they advised against repainting but quoted anyway and it was nearly as much as buying the replacement parts. Had a quote from Audi who wouldn't repaint it either and and the quote for the parts is ridic considering you have to buy the whole grille. Boot lid strip is comedy price as well at £110.

So, baring in mind I don't want to go down the wrapping route, or blacking it out and want to to look silver OEM/as it was. What options do I got? gonna get a couple more quotes for repainting but I imagine it will be along the same lines.
