New brakes, light still on

Post by redrsr » Wed Apr 08, 2015 10:43 am

Had brake wear light come on quite a bit the end of last season, presumed the pads were worn so ordered AP discs and premier pads, just got the car out of hibernation and swopped brakes (pads only 1/3 worn), warning light still on, I've re checked plugs and connections seem fine, looking at Vagcom its suggesting an intermitant open circuit, reset faults and drove 3mls, no problem, then started car to drive back and the light came straight back on, any ideas??

I had this problem when my new OEM pads were fitted. Turned out to be a poor connection from the new pad connector to the existing loom, even though the connections seemed fine.

+1

If the seal gets left out of the plug (previous pad changes) moisture can corrode the socket pins
