Drivers door card

Post by gt2 » Tue Mar 31, 2015 10:35 am

Has anyone removed this without causing significant damage to it? I've read a few posts on here saying that the door card gets trashed during removal?! My inner door handle has stopped working, outer is fine so it's gonna have to come off.

I would buy one of those plastic panel removing tools (£5) from ebay as well as some extra clips again from ebay. This covers you incase you break any clips while your on the task.

It should be easy enough to do myself though?

YouTube it, always a guide on there. This will save you time. Failing that google it.

I've removed mine loads of times. It's quite easy. The only damage you'll do is break a few of the 20p clips so no big deal. The door card goes back on without them anyway as long as you don't break them all. There is a good photo guide online somewhere but I can't search at the moment.

Agreed took mine off a few times and you should not damage the card it self just the clips. I need a new drivers door card anyway due to the top being damaged when the seats were stolen.

Should be able to remove without damaging it if you can open the door. Mine was trashed by Aberdeen Audi as my deadlock motor failed and they couldn't open the door without doing it to get to the inner workings. I landed having to pay for the new one - ~£300 odd although got a free service after kicking off with the main Customer Services after no joy with locals.

You will need new clips-I've yet to remove a door card in this car and not break at least two. They don't make them to be re-useable. Keep in mind that the top two clips are a different style than the main clips.

Sounds about right. I've ordered some replacement clips but no doubt I'll break both types...

Anyone got a link to the two different type of clips that are used to hold the door card on? I assume this is one type, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A4-DOOR- ... 5d369eb309

what's the others?

They're the ones I used. I only seen 1 of the other type and it never broke. I don't have a link but it's a much smaller white clip. Giving its location I honestly don't think it's the end of the world if it was missing.

thanks, the white ones like these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10X-AUDI-DOOR ... 4638901c50

I'm replacing my pull/grab handle shell, it has a little scuff. I'd rather have both sets of clips on hand so I'm not removing the card twice.
