well thats very open to opinion , the only way really is to go ask , but he will try and knock you down to his lowest for sure , if he even wants another one , anyone who wants rid of a car will get lowballed for sure i was thinking of trading in my RS4 57k miles for a B8 S4 about a year ago and was offered 11k from audi , i never even answered just gave him the WTF face and just turned round and walked away so its up to you what your prepared for really

Also the Avant is so much faster and way more desirable so you should expect to take quite a hit on 'just' a saloon

After sending that on the car I would just keep it, plus you know what you have, its not like you are going to be getting one with a lot less miles, not that there is anything wrong with a high mile car if its been looked after well, and you mite have to spend all that money again on the new one, that's just the way I look at it.
It is really up to you at the end of the day good luck

As has already been said i think this is open to opinion and many will view it differently. I own an Avant with 91K on the clock. I brought it for £16750 a year ago with 86k. The car does look clean and seems to be drawing alot of interest but i still think it's a tad expensive? I'm no expert though so I could be wrong?
I personally wouldn't be giving him money, especially with the work you have just carried out. £3000+ spent to get the car how you want it (MRC, wheels etc) + £2000 at best to to the dealer.... all to own an Avant? That would be a hard pill for me to swallow if it was the otherway round and i wanted a saloon.
I'd sell private personally and then hold out for an Avant. Easier said than done i know.
Don't rush it mate as things like this have a horrible habit of coming back and biting you on the ass! Whilst it may look pretty it could be hiding something underneath?

If you have just spent that much on your car, why do you now want to get rid? There is a chance you'll have to pay the same again (plus more on unidentified faults no doubt) on a new one. Unless your circumstances have changed to needing an Avant if it was me I'd be keeping hold of a car I know the history of.

Your money, your choice, but I personally don't understand why you would spank a load of money on a car, then trade it in (i.e. guaranteed the most expensive way to change a car) on something else. If you really want an avant, sell the saloon on the forum (desirable mods) and then take your pick of avants, as they come up for sale.
