Wanted - RS4 B7

Looking to take the plunge and buy an RS4 at last.

I have a strong preference for an Avant, but a saloon would be considered with the right spec etc. Not interested in a convertible.

I definitely don't want silver, yellow or grey exteriors and anything over 80,000 miles.

We all know the various gremlins these cars have, so a car that's never had any work to the brakes, aux radiators, clutch, DRC etc would still be considered, but the price I would be prepared to offer would be affected.

I'm based in Gloucestershire, but I'm prepared to travel, for the right car.

Cash waiting.

PM me if you're looking to sell yours.

Cheers,
Bryan

Too many miles for me I'm afraid. Looks fantastic though.

For the avoidance of any doubt, I'm not looking to sell my rs4 and expect to keep it for years... So no axe to grind. I hit 90,000 miles yesterday. I'm obsessive about looking after my car but others on here are far far worse... In a good way... I would take a 120,000 mile car from a forum member I can see loves their car over a 60,000 mile dealer car I don't know every single day of the week.

I bought my car from a dealer before I found the forum too!

I have a Porsche 944 with high miles, which I bought based on its condition, more than any other criteria, so high miles doesn't necessarily mean 100% no.

My reasoning is that I want the current miles per year to equate with what I will put on it. No point paying a premium for a 30,000 mile car and conversely, I don't want something where the miles are already high, making it more difficult to sell at a later date.

I'm unlikely to find the "perfect" car and no doubt something will have to give, but it makes sense to aim high and compromise if required. A higher miler with a recent clutch, DRC & brakes would be much higher up the list than a garage queen.

Cheers,
Bryan

I agree its a balancing act. High enough miles that the clutch and flywheel has been done. But if you are doing a few miles yourself it does indeed help if its under 100k still when it comes to sell.

Lots of the low milers have exceeded two years between servicing - something to look out for

I want this : http://www.mcgurk.com/stock/299/Used-Au ... k-Metallic

It's actually my birthday today. There will be much drinking tonight, when I'll ask the Mrs what she thinks about blowing the budget.

On a serious note, I've emailed the dealer asking the usual questions about the expensive maintenance items. They've emailed straight back. They've just got the car and have sent it off to Audi for inspection. Hopefully the suspension, clutch and brakes etc will all need doing and they'll get everything sorted! That would certainly make the price a bit more justifiable.

Cheers,
Bryan

Don't reply on an inspection by Audi, you can read many posts on here from new owners where an Audi inspection has missed big ticket items like worn brakes & leaking DRC.

+1 mine was with Audi a month ago all was well according to them, tread depth a bit low & exhaust flexies slight damaged due to bottoming out and that was it, happy days.
Then did the 3-8k test & im running 11.6! & wouldnt even hit 8k
Also my exhaust valves one was ceased closed.
:bash:

Oh yes, I've been down that route with main dealers. I was just happy that the garage replied quickly with useful information, whereas asking about this http://www.tanyardmotors.co.uk/used-AUD ... ter-593233 was just greeted with silence.

I personally feel it will be a hard find, not everyone wants to sell. Your looking at a price upwards of 18.5k.

Yes, it's looking that way. The only decent ones are 23k+, but as they're at dealers who aren't able to answer questions about the car's recent maintenance, then what they're asking for is too big a risk. I'm expecting to shell out more than the 18.5k quoted above and happy to pay more than that for the right car. Kicking myself for missing John's car : viewtopic.php?f=63&t=114162

Revised and bumped.

My car is now sold and I have the weekend off. Ready to buy if the right one comes up.
