Re: can you imagine the bill!
Wow, bad luck. Sounds like the light is at the end of the tunnel hopefully.

Where has the video disappeared to?
I wanted to show it to somebody

Re: can you imagine the bill!
The vid was taken down by the poster after I used it to have a pop at Audi Watford. Their MD called me to discuss things generally and the matter of the vid came up. I was happy for it to be up there, and he would have been OK with it staying up, negative comments included. His tech decided to pull it.
Ready At Last
So, 127 days after the accident the car is ready to be picked up. I'm down to Audi on Monday to meet an inspector from the insurance company and Audi Watford's chief tech. Fingers crossed that it will all AOK. Im trying not to get too up about it just in case there is another glitch ...
Re: can you imagine the bill!
This sounds very similar to a 409 day insurance claim saga I had in relation to a 15 year old Subaru Impreza.
Glad to hear things are on the up. Hope all is well when you see it next.

Re: Ready At Last
Well I took it for a 15 mile test drive with an inspector from the insurance company. All was good. So I paid my bills and took it the five miles home.DuncanF wrote:So, 127 days after the accident the car is ready to be picked up. Sadly I only made four miles before the EMU light came on so it's now back at Audi Watford while they try to figure out the cause of a fuel flow imbalance across the banks.
I seriously don't know whether to laugh or cry ...

Ah ffs man, that must be a killer. It's been some saga so far and hopefully it's something simple...
You'd really have to question the ability of the technicians who worked on the car.

I guess that's why the youtube vid has been removedirishmike wrote: You'd really have to question the ability of the technicians who worked on the car.
Re: can you imagine the bill!
That was removed when I used the comments to vent my spleen and name/shame Audi Watford the first time I went to pick up the "repaired" car in mid-April.RS4_Ollie wrote:I guess that's why the youtube vid has been removedirishmike wrote: You'd really have to question the ability of the technicians who worked on the car.
Re: can you imagine the bill!
Apparently it is. They applied the magic spray and found a vacuum fault in some pipe. New part arrived today and I'm told I should be back in the car on Friday after an extensive road test.irishmike wrote:Ah ffs man, that must be a killer. I'm musing when the next fault will bubble up. The first attempted collection failed after 5 metres, the last after 5 miles. The next ... after 5 days? Who knows?
Re: can you imagine the bill!
Well Watford Audi put on 90 miles in their test drive yesterday and it didn't skip a beat. I'm more than happy for them to do that just to really make sure all is OK.
Fingers crossed this story is coming to an end now!

Patience of a Saint. Good luck Duncan.
Re: can you imagine the bill!
Oh! And to answer the thread title re: the bill ... I am in to the tune of £500 insurance excess plus £244 for a new clutch. Audi Watford are owed in excess of £14k, of which the insurance company only approved around £10.5k. Plus the depreciation on an A6 which I've had for three months/2500 miles.
Due to the hassle, Audi have offered me a complimentary one year full Audi Warranty, paid for the MOT and put the car under the Audi Warrantied MOT scheme, completed the due intermediate service FOC, and chucked in some new number plates.
When all is said and done I don't see much change out of £20K on all parties ... which is the estimated value (by the insurance company) of the car. But I will end up with a car that is either perfect to keep, because of all the warranties and 80% new engine/clutch, or perfect to sell, for the same reasons.
Off to pick her up (finally??? ) in an hour.
