MRC Magic

Post by RS4Guy » Fri Feb 27, 2015 9:15 pm

Picked up my beast from MRC this afternoon and can't stop smiling.

It was long overdue some serious maintenance amongst some other niggling issues. All those niggles seem to be resolved and the car has never felt better! The kick is phenomenal and every time my foot squeezes the loud pedal, I get an almighty shove in the kidneys and I'll probably need a neck brace tomorrow.

My car is high mileage and for a little while now I've had some intermittent inlet manifold problems that became rather less intermittent and almost a regular occurrence on every journey, which means limp mode most of the time. Sticking flaps syndrome. So, MRC have undertaken a full carbon clean with deflap and stage 2 remap. Problem solved.

Health check showed 360PS when it went in, but now, I have an extra 70PS to enjoy - 430PS. I could not be happier.

Other jobs were a new starter motor, replaced corroded coolant pipes, replaced some power steering pipe, replaced a cv gaiter and tightened up all the bolts on my suspension and sub frames. Lots of creaks and groans from underside before, now everything feels tight and better then when I got it.

:blackrs4:

Suffice to say my journey home this afternoon has been most enjoyable. Thanks to all the guys at MRC. I should have done it ages ago.

Agreed. Just wish they weren't so far away. 1 bus and 2 different trains to get there today. Public transport is best avoided. Could have asked the Mrs to drop me there but then she'd know what I've just spent on the car! :bash:

Great result :thumb:

I find myself continuously reading these 'success' stories out loud to the wife trying to get her to to speak those wonderful words "just bloody get it done then". It hasn't happened yet though :bash:  :biggrin3:
