front brake pads
Re: front brake pads
I'm not far off a front brake change, too, when I will be going back to OEM discs, and trying a different pad this time round.
EBC Yellowstuff are on the list, but I have thought about a ceramic compound pad.
These Redstuff pads seem like a decent one to try, but could anyone perhaps please answer a couple of questions?
This may be silly, but being a harder compound, do the Reds take any longer to bed in?
I track my car, so - for both Yellow and Red pads - how is the "pad deposit build-up" issue from which our cars can suffer?
Many thanks,
Darren

Re: front brake pads
My Redstuff pads took 100 miles to bed in and become silent.
I also used them on my SL55 AMG which was a 1950kg car running 604 bhp and they were excellent on that too.
I have never used Yellowstuff so can't comment.

Do the EBC pads have wear sensors?

Re: front brake pads
Any of the people running Yellowstuff ever run Ferodo DS2500? Looking to change pads wheh I change the discs in a week or so.
I got 4 trackdays and 20,000 miles off the Ferodo.. While they were good on road and track, I want to try something new..

Re: front brake pads
I've used the DS2500s on previous cars and liked them, but I never used them on the RS due to the lack of wear sensors.

Re: front brake pads
Ds2500's are one of the best pads out there but as said above no wear sensors . Never really got on with the EBC items so I avoid them .

Re: front brake pads
I ran the Ferodo Premier's, they were very good better than OEM a in my opinion. Bought some new discs so decided to try new pads and went with Yellow Stuff, they perform better than the Ferodo pads even when cold.
I was looking at Hawk Ceramic pads but couldn't find enough info to warrant using them. They are supposed to be very good with little dust. May bite the bullet and try them when new pads are required.
