reversing lights rubbish

Anyone else think the same, they don't particularly shine that bright and almost in-effective. Anyone upgraded, if so to what? TIA.

I don't think I've ever used my reverse light to actually illuminate anything... makes sense now I think about it though, they are rubbish!

I agree but who needs lights when we have sensors :)

Never noticed them being any worse than any other cars I've had, had a bump denboy?

Wife had a moan when she got her Tiguan that it didn't have sensors. Asked how often she reversed into things before she had them, never was the answer. And she's managed fine for a year.

On the flip side my brothers wife has an X5 and uses the reverse camera to judge she is fully in the drive when the wheelie bins topple over!

Cheers

Yeah my reverse camera struggles to see anything with the low light from the reverse lamps. My driveway is pitch black until I'm halfway on and the lights come on, but too late then I'm already through the narrow part.

Exactly the same for me, are there any LED'S that can replace the existing?

I've replaced my rear's with a complete set of Dectane LED clusters, fit can be fussy but they look smart - not too bling and bright LED's. They contain all error cancellers. The rear reverse light in the Dectane's was still an incandescent bulb - get an extra DRL kit from Trups, and use that to update the Dectane reverse to LED - it's eyewateringly bright too...

https://www.dectane.de/index.php?&language=en - bit weird - site seems down at the moment.

Mine were: RA12SLRCL - LED TAILLIGHTS AUDI A4 B7 LIM.04-08_LED BLINKER_RED/CRYST

Without the Dectanes the alternative would ultimately require a canceller for each bulb/fitment and I think would be all too much to fit in the OEM cluster...

I used these as a DRL LED upgrade bulb: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/P21W-BA15s-50 ... 35c91463ca - VERY bright...

Good luck.

Was going to suggest Trups would be able to provide a reverse LED upgrade, as Perry Neil's Dectanes but for stock rear lights.

I have rear leds but I don't think there is anything to cancel an error for the normal filament reverse lamp... or is there?
