MOT Fail

Post by Rick_RS4 » Sat Dec 13, 2014 2:11 pm

flew through the mot today bar the bloody emissions, it was 0.5% out on carbon emissions

i think they were probably cheap cats that came on the new system maybe

other than scrap it is there anything i can do to get it lower?

Absolutely flog it to death before the test, have it absolutely roasting before you bring it in. Might let you away, if not then new cats.

Nothing crazy, just enough to get the cats hot and then a few red-line squirts to clear the pipes a bit.

Looks like your offside post catalyst is on its way out and gives too lean reading, the ECU would compensate by running richer, may be this that cause the high carbon emissions.

Could also try refitting the OEM cats back on for MOT test.

Phantom Black (B7) RS4 Saloon, MRC Stage 2
