HELP.......TPMS problem

Post by willywonker RS4 » Wed Nov 26, 2014 8:20 pm

Hi everyone
Hope someone can help with a problem I have with my B7 audi rs4, I drove the car yesterday for the first time in 2 weeks and the TPMS flashed up red with no Amber warning just a straight red, I stopped at a garage and filled the tyres with air, one was very low 26psi not 33 so I reset it using the RS steering wheel, cleared the warning and drove off, 2 miles later it flashed red AGAIN, checked the pressures but nothing wrong, It doesn't want to stay resetted.
Please help

As long as you know the pressures are fine it won't cause any problems at all. You can turn the system off but not sure if you use VCDS or can select from the menu where you set pressures.

Hi

I've tried resetting it on the display menu but it only last 2 miles then bleeps red again, I've heard u can take it to a garage with audi knowledge and if they have the software they can disable it which works out cheaper than replacing 4 sensors as I'm not sure which ones knackered

Anyone with VCDS can disable it for you - don't go pay a garage! You're welcome to pop over to me (MK443AP) if you can't find someone closer to help - I'll do it for you in under 1 minute. :)

I'm about 20 miles from Milton Keynes - black cat roundabout on the a1. Directly down the a421 until you hit it :)

VCDS is Vagcom by another name - the software and hardware required to talk to all the cars ecu. Change settings, read codes etc :)

If you need new ones this guy should take £30 each if you put a snide offer in.

I work from home so am in most days - just drop me a PM a day in advance with a rough time and we'll hook up :)

No charge don't be silly - bring a packet of biscuits if you want anything with your cup of tea :)

Ive got the same issue, doing my nuts in. Can you tell which one it is on Vagcom or is it best to just replace each corner?

Anyone used these ?

Vagcom wont tell you which sensor it is unfortunately. It's a very basic tpms system.
