There's a reason why people drive from all over the country to use MRC.

If you had stage2 manifold you would get engine light / epc light if they flashed to stock.

Yes that's what I'd been told to expect and no lights on at all so hopefully all just points to something disturbed when doing the spark plugs. Booked in for Wednesday so should all get sorted anyway. Looks like I need to invest in a new panel filter at least.
Just goes to show how much a difference something small can make to performance.

Well, over a week later from it going back in to dealers and I've finally got the car back and guess what, it's no better.
They've checked over everything that they've done and come up with nothing. They reckon their equipment doesn't even detect a remap.
Has anybody else had this or any ideas what the cause could be? Car drives ok and smooth, no lights on dash just not as responsive as it used to be, almost lethargic at revving.
Cheers for any help

Yep MRC is looking like the only option but will have to wait til after Xmas now before I can take it down. The dealer is saying it's not their fault if the map has been wiped and are even doubting the quality of it or if it was even mapped to start with and they've even been on the phone to MRC to check.
At the end of the day, mapped or not, my car went in for routine work and came out with less power than when it went in so I don't see how whatever is wrong is not their fault.

But you're defending from a very compromised position. They'll just point out the fact that you have/had a remap... and they'll point it out all day long. It'll get messy.

Go on Shiply and get a quote for getting your car shipped to MRC. Job done.

My £0.02.

They're not arguing about the fact it was mapped as they say they work on lots of cars that have been done. They reckon if the get something in with a map that needs a software update they get the mapped removed, do the update then have the map reinstalled. The main argument seems to be that if they've wiped the map it's not their fault.
As for shipping the car to MRC I'd rather take it myself and see what goes on.
All will have to wait for a week or so now as it's going into the bodyshop for 2 wings under warranty.

Dealers are now trying to blame having new plugs fitted for the power loss.
Anybody ever heard such bollocks from a main dealer

steview wrote:I definitely think it's gone back to standard. I believe in standard form you don't get 100% throttle in 1st and 2nd gear but the stage 2 map changes this to 100%. It used to be just about instant response in 'S' and great fun but now it just feels lethargic.
Will have to see what they say tomorrow and take it from there.
MRC did offer to put it on their system and check it out but unfortunately they're 250 miles from me
This was one thing putting me off going to MRC and that is if there are any problems, it's a 500 mile round trip. I was planning to go before Xmas for a stage 2 but will have to be after now. No doubt I will change my mind again closer to the time... I take it then from your posts, the stage 2 is worth having done?

Yep! I'd definitely recommend the stage 2 remap with the MRC inlet manifold.
I'm hoping mine isn't just something the dealer has missed and not the ecu's flashed otherwise it's another £650 to have it redone plus the 500 mile round trip costs.

There's nothing up north is there? It's always the case. I come from a ford RS background and had the same trouble with them. No-one wanted to touch them up here. Got a few bits I want done on a e36 m3 and it's the same old story. Wrong choice of cars maybe.
