BBS ch-r rim protector - removal

Post by E14STO » Fri Oct 24, 2014 7:25 pm

Any of you guys done this.
Got some mint wheels with min tyres today. Pretty much brand new. Car is black optics all round and silver protectors look awful!
Need them off. Would contemplate plasti-dip if they clip on / off.

Any ideas?

When my wife bought hers from prestige wheels they told her you had to remove the tyre to replace the rim protector.

Well I was hoping that wouldn't be the case but I did wonder if the tyre when inflated helped hold them in place.I wouldn't have bought them if I thought they were permanent so they need to come off.

I've got them on my CHR's and I had to replace one a while ago. I just pulled off the damaged one and stuck on the new one with no tyre deflating/removal whatever.
Incidentally they cost about £75 each!!

Nice one. I've just read they are stuck on....
I am thinking about taking them off, spraying them black or MIGHT even do them plast dip "blurple" to get a so/so match with the sepang paint. Bit chav though. :-)
Plus not sure what will be tacky enough to re - apply.

Same wheels. Just plasti-dipped them. Removing was a pain in the ass.
