Just been through this. Audi only im afraid.
Hope you're sitting down...

£150 for the key (pre-order from Germany), £55 to code it to your car. Hitchin cocked up something else so I managed to get it coded for free so it's obviously negotiable - but the key is damn expensive.

I thought there was a much cheaper way but I could be wrong. Still, it's better than the £250 Alfa charged me. I bought 2 for £500!!! Bargain!

Fail to see how that cost can be justified, ludicrous really.

That's your own fault for buying an Alfa :bash:

If it is just for a spare you can also order a plastic key or a standard metal key which would reduce the cost.

Really need one with the transponder in. If i was to lose the original i wouldn't be able to start the car or turn the alarm off.

The plastic key has a transponder in and starts the car & they should be able to find you a non-remote metal key with a transponder in it.

With both of these I think you have 30 seconds or something to turn the key in the ignition before the alarm goes off but not entirely certain.
