steering wheel retrim

Post by RossDagley » Fri Oct 17, 2014 10:45 am

Anyone know the ins and outs of this? Recommended places / approx cost etc?

Being that my car has been to mars and back, the leather is looking a little tired.

Thanks Dave. "Royal Steering Wheels" was one I'd saved to come back and look at - seems good quality work.

Now to decide what I want doing!

PS - Group buy? :bigwave:

I might be interested in a group buy. My alcantara one is knackered. I had a quote from mjinteriors for a new alcantara one but might swap to it to leather

Royal do come highly recommended in the BMW world. Also MJ Interiors in Baildon have a great following.

Ok guys, just an FYI. I've phoned Royal Steering Wheels this afternoon and am discussing a "group buy" setup. There's a few different options, but I think we should be looking at a nice discount if we can organise it all!

Jack (the guy who runs it) is calling me back this afternoon with exact prices for the actual refurb and the options we can have, along with details of the discount over their standard prices. as soon as he does, I'll post up here (perhaps in a new thread, or I'll edit the first post/title etc) with all the details.

The only "complication" we'll need to think about is that they will want the wheel for a week. If you factor in postage both ways then realistically you'll be without your wheel for 10-12 days. Getting us all to be organised so we all have our wheels available for a week simultaneously is going to be a challenge!

It's provisionally looking like we should get a really good price though so it'll be worth the pain :)

More to follow :)

Isn't there a group buy policy?

I don't know - I didn't think to look for one. I'll go check what's what :)

Edit to add: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=55082

Yep found some guidelines. :) A quick skim read and I think I just need to post in the correct forum area, make sure everyone is happy with who I am, who the company is, and we keep it all in there. Hopefully that's all there is to it.

If it's any more restrictive then sod it, I'll just look after myself and not bother trying to help others... :boohoo:
