"Do you want to sell it mate?"

Post by RichT128 » Mon Sep 22, 2014 9:30 pm

Got my car back today after a week in an A5 courtesy car... So nice to be back in it, driving along a dual carriageway when a golf pulls up alongside and the passenger starts motioning at me to wind down the window.... Then shouts over and asks me if I want to sell it while we're driving along!

It's easy to forget how special these cars are when you use them every day, but days like this make me grateful!

it seems to get even more attention in Europe I find, on my recent trip through Belgium, Holland and Germany my mate who came along with me couldn't believe it, lorry drivers in traffic asking me to rev it, other cars giving me the 'boot it' sign, thumbs up from other drivers, people filming on camera phones etc...not bad for a 7yr old Saloon eh ;-)

+1
Two young lads walking up the high street - no more than 14-15 years old spotted me parked up ready to go to the cash point - they were beside themselves; 'look, an RS4!' They pointed, leered at it, walked around it and wandered off mumbling it could 'cream' an M3!

What I found fascinating is, at 14/15 years old I had no real concept that at their age they would know what a B7 RS4 is and just assumed Lamborghinni and Porsche were their thing...

7 years old and still making yoof's point :thumb:

I had my 15/16 year old son in the car last week coming back from his football and he turns to me in the car and says Dad can I have the RS when you have finished with it?

I just looked at him and smiled, .... How do you explain that one?

I need to get a decent zorst for the 6, and tidy it up a bit, it seems to be a good sleeper car as it's only been recognized a handful of times so far. My mate I was working with signed it in as an "audi A4 estate" at work which i was pretty upset about haha. I gave him a ride in it to 'educate' him!

I definitely need a miltek system. Neighbours won't like it though as it's my daily driver

After being in convoy with a couple of B7's I have to say they do sound incredible!

Don't get anywhere near the attention in the rs6 as i did in the rs4. I think you have got to be really into cars to know what a Lambo-derived estate car is - and most don't! But that's also cool!
