Doesn’t seem to bad to me. How warm was the engine when you video’d that ?

Could do with a longer clip to be honest.

So, its’ Colbournes ?

Not to bad?!?
fwiw, I've never seen a RS4 chuck out quite that much smoke even when stone cold.
Some is to be expected but that is IMO well over the top and pretty clear where the oil is going.
As above though - what temp the engine?

I would strongly advise getting a compression test on all cylinders. Given the distance, I would say it is worth paying for it as its a dead easy test that shouldn't take more than an hour at any garage.

To me that looks like a large amount of oil is getting into the cylinders. It could be a vavle stem seal however the leak would be quite small.
My money is on a piston ring failure

I'm with adsgreen on this one. Stem seal wear wouldn't produce that much sh*t. I'm sure it's bore wear and/or (more likely) piston ring(s) failure

Cold start ***could*** be valve stem seals (but it's an awful lot).
If you can repeat the test when the car is up to temp and see what happens. stem seals usually seal themselves pretty sharpish. it's one reason why the rs4 is very smoky if you don't use it for a while - the oil sits on top of the valves and leaks through.

However if there is fuel in the oil then it's leaking down the cylinder walls which you wouldn't get if it was the stem seals.
Compression test will tell you pretty quick.

Booked in for compression test now. When warm there isn't any smoke and starts on the button. If it helps the car is always on a slope when I start up from cold too.

It needed the second video to see if there truly was some smoke after the first few seconds.
They all do it.

Looks pretty sh1t when now we can see that it doesn’t clear immediately however.

From the number plates Colbournes may have originally supplied the car, but were they where blueboy bought it from?

Mine used to use a fair bit, it also used to smell of burning oil. After i had removed the airbox (headlight still in) i found at least 4 of the rocker cover bolts loose, leaking oil which was burning off on the exhaust. Oil was collecting on the shield just below the gasket.
