Yes, they use cheap third party screens that can cause issues with auto lights and wipers, they also go misty after a while.

Some fitters can also be real cowboys that do substandard work. Like, not enough sealant so that you then get wind noise and too much sealant that's not been wiped away inside that causes A-pillar trim fitment issues. Get a genuine screen fitted by a dealer or trusted fitter, insurance companies will only give a contribution towards the cost though.

Mine's got a non OEM screen that I assume was fitted by the previous owner. As a result the auto wipers don't really work worth a sh*t. I believe on such screens the sunstrip at the top can be slightly different and it upsets the sensor.

I'm surprised a stealer can do a better job than a fitter, considering they f-up everything else so easily.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Seems to be a general rule because that's how its here (in Finland) also experienced:)

Admiral wouldn't pay for an AUdi screen on mine last year as the car is/was over 3 years old. They offered £50 'goodwill' towards the cost of a proper screen, rather than the £75 I'd have had to pay in excess, but I didn't take them up on that either and I just said f*** it and got the proper screen sourced and fitted without them.
