Tubi rumore

Post by RossDagley » Tue Sep 02, 2014 12:30 am

I'm after a pair of rear silencers (oh, the irony).

It's a huge long shot but does anyone have some "laying around" (or want to swap for milltek etc with cash).

Failing that, anyone know where I can get it new and ideally sooner rather than later?

I'm open to other ideas to get rumore levels of sound if you think it's doable (jcfab etc?)

Not head the Tubi Rumore up close and personal - Mike Fish can give you first hand experience on that - he had a Tubi Rumore system I think but now back to back to standard exhaust (valves disconnected)

Have a listen to this Ross - it's hard to get the right impression on Youtube, but it sounds mental in real life with valves open... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_k0VJ2 ... e=youtu.be

That is similar (from what I can tell) to my milltek non res/non valved. Loud and purposeful.

What I'm after is the devil gargling nails:

Yeah, that's Mike Fish's!!! That's him walking back to the car to floor it!

He loaded this a while back and I commented on the dirty car and his cool trainers!

Yes, that's louder than mine - personally I couldn't live with it. Mike may have his for sale as Rick mentions - I think the noise was attracting attention!

Deano_123 now has my Tubi.
Definitely not an exhaust for anyone with neighbours and early starts.
That video gives you a good idea of the noise but it is actually louder in the flesh. Very nascar sort of sound. Not an exhaust if you like having a conversation in the car as you have to shout. But it sounds amazing!
obviously it all depends on how you fit it. The Tubi was designed to be fitted to the standard exhaust once cut so you'd still have the centre resonator. I bought a Milltek h pipe and non res centre section to make a cat back system and this just made it angry. A resonated centre section made it more sociable but it lost its bite.

I'll be honest. That's not helping me scratch the itch!!

So... Where can I get what I need? (What DO I need? Currently have milltek non res cat back - is it just swapping the rear silencers with my current setup?)

Then that'll give a) more power and b) more noise. :beerchug:

Remind me not to live next door to you, Ross!

bam_bam had a straight through system on his (or did unless I've missed any switch) and that was pretty angry albeit not a B7 but nevertheless, by it's nature it was loud...

In all honesty, I've not heard a system louder than Mike's Tubi and the nature of a straight through just pipes in the flesh - but then, I may have not lived...

lol!

I can tell you for a fact removing the pre-cats alone wont be even close to how I want it to sound but ... they'll get done.

If I'm keeping this 4 for a while (until the right 6 comes along) then I may as well fiddle with it a little more. Rude not to. ;)

The Tubi is only available from one place in the Uk and that is here (official UK distributor):
http://www.eurospares.co.uk/Tubistyle_E ... &Mo=RS4&S=

It will set you back about £2k for any choice (loud or quiet with either ovals or quad pipes).
It might take a week or so go get in from Italy though.

It is designed to fit onto the OEM exhaust (once cut down), but I had it fitted to a Milltek h-pipe and centre section. This means the Tubi will need to be shortened slightly to mate up wit hthe tubi centere section.

Or you could ask Deano_123 if his neighbours have lynched him yet and sell you his.

I heard Mike's Tubi set up at the AMD Rolling Road meet last Oct and you really have to hear it in the flesh to understand the ferociousness of it! it is without doubt one of the loudest cars I have ever heard....
