Also it says its stroked not bored :beerchug:
Makes sense to take a C5 RS6 engine - already turbocharged so relatively straightforward starting point.
Thought it all looked rather odd!

Buuuuuuuuullshite. It's been done a couple of times. It's typically a better package because the snails can be repositioned from the back of the engine, which is better for heat, creates space and allows for larger turbos.

That is ridiculously quick! But as I said in the other thread-will constantly be either breaking or needing map tweaks etc. Great if you like tinkering... a lot!!

this is the only b5 I know of with a C5 RS6 engine which they extended the front allowing for it to fit, now if you know of one that's been done without the nose extension I would be interested to read about it.

I can't comment on previous engine swaps, but it's definitely a C5 engine, and stroked as stated in the ad.

There's a build over on SRS, feel free to read away. It don't really matter though, it is a BCY.

So much attitude, ok I miss read his decryption and it's an R8 colour not engine so I concede you are right but I still thought the C5 engine would not fit or maybe that's because of the C5 gearbox.

You've misread attitude for disdain. How was he being cryptic when stating "Sepang Blue Pearl paint from Audi R8"?
AFAIK the matching GAG/HP5 'box has never been used in an BCY B5 conversion. All the ones I've seen use the 01E which bolts straight on but the two lower bolts won't line up (no biggie, most just use a dowel system). From there custom mounts or A6 GB mounts are used, also from a 2.7TT A6; the slave to master cylinder, pedal box, prop shaft, drive shafts with B5 gearbox linkages and B5 gearstick box retained.
The starter motor tends to be full custom, typically a race starter with an offset gear due to the drive ring sitting too far in for the RS6 starter. The flywheel is custom too but I've heard of someone using a modified 2.7TT A6 flywheel, seems a ballache considering the cost and quality of a custom jobbie. Any B5 S4/RS4 clutchkit will work.
The big work is in the custom manis, custom ECUs, all supporting pipework, custom cooling, custom DPs, custom front-end subframe and FMIC blablabla.
What's worrying about this car is that it seems to run in RWD, probably to stop it twisting the running gear. If this car goes for less than 14k it's a bargain, not sure what you'd use it for but all things considered, a bargain...

In regards to mixing up the R8 part it was easy done when you're reading it from a phone... honest mistake.
With regards to it being a C5 lump the only one I read about and was aware of (other then Siena's ma V8 none RS6) was the b5 RS4 conversion which used the C6 auto Gearbox. I was also lead to understand a manual box could not handle the C5 power but hay you've pointed out to not be the case.

oh and buy the way he states you can have in either rwd or Quattro when bought, figure it may be more fun rwd

Agree, it is hideous; screamer pipes, pins holding everything on, holes cut everywhere, different coloured boot and bonnet, Halfrauds special headunit. Still, the fact that it's so ugly must be even better when it mullers stupidly quick exotics. I do love the madness of it.

Funny, I've been posting all this time from a BB Q10 which has a screen the size of a postage stamp. I suggest you go to Specsavers innit.

The 01E can handle it just fine with a few mods (hardened 5th and 6th gearsets), due to the turbo torque delivery it would lunch an 0A3. I've never heard of a BCY being mated to a 09E/ZF 6HP26A, care to post a link? It's a huge gearbox and apparently won't fit in the C5 chassis so I'd love to know how it was shoehorned into a B5, not to mention the ECU/TCU work required for them to get along. I'd seen a thread on some mad Polish chaps stuffing a C6 powerplant and 'box into a B5 but I'd never seen it finished.
The biggest issue with mating a modified BCY to a 01E is the torque and AWD, hence I believe this car is running in RWD mode to preserve the running gear. A C5 RS6 with a manual conversion typically breaks input shafts and twists drive shafts, only driving the rear wheels will allow it to break traction before twisting metal. The fact that the seller states a choice upon sale means stuff all and gives this more credence. I mean, once it's sold it's not his problem any more, is it?
