Activating side lumber in menu

Post by rob-s » Fri Aug 29, 2014 7:28 am

I just replaced my RS4 Comfort seats with RS4 bucket seats and need to activate in the cars menu "side lumber support" (on/off).

I just can't remember in what module it is with VCDS. I remember there was a topic about bucket seats were it was mentioned but couldn't
find it.

Could someone help me by giving some instructions? Thanks!

I went from comforts to buckets and even after changing the coding I never did get the bolsters to inflate when pressing the sport button.

Not that it bothers me, I don't even inflate the bolsters manually.

Thanks for the link! Its the one I saw earlier. It seems to be possible to get the bolsters working by pressing "S"..but how?

Has anyone replaced the OEM leathers? How difficult could that be?

I had my front seats retrimmed last year. Changing the leather over is not that difficult if you have patience.

You can buy new ones from Audi but I don't remember them being cheap.

Think they were about £600-700 a panel with each seat needing two panels (a top and a bottom).

Are there any instructions available somewhere here?

Another thing I noticed is that the side mirror glass does't tip anymore when reversing. The driver door and passenger door modules have disappeared completely from VCDS for my car. Does anyone have this feature with bucket seats? If what is the code?

I thought the side mirror glass only dipped when you have the memory seat option?

Well, my car has originally Recaro seats with memory. So the mirror dipping was a factory option that now doesn't work anymore since i installed these bucket seats.

IIRC the memory module is mounted under the drivers seat, so when you swapped the seats you will have removed the memory module - hence the mirror dipping won't happen.

This would make sense although the modules are called "driver door" & "passenger door" etc.

What functions are in the black socket of the front seats? Any one who can help me with activating the side bolsters tightening when depressing "S" button?
I have "sports seat" in my car's menu now and its "crossed".

That's poetic licence on Audi's part.

Can't help on the bucket bolsters as I don't have them.

I researched the same when I switched to buckets seats but I never did find anyone that managed to get them to inflate when the sport button was pressed.

Probably just a case of changing a bit of code somewhere but no idea what module it would be under.

It never bothered me enough to go looking through all the menu options.

A bit like trying to fix my TPMS, in the end I decided I could live without it.

I don't think anyone who had comfort seat as standard got the S button working with the buckets, including myself.

My guess is that there is a missing or a different module with the two type of seats. Can someone with bucket seats post up a scan of all the modules installed in their car?

That's a good idea! Then we need also to compare the codings
