You can fit a space saver into the boot I believe although it may sit a little proud. I have a full size spare at home with an old tyre on it but so far have been lucky and not needed it or the gunk.

My car on the m40 last Friday
Split on the inner edge of the tyre, ended up on a flat bed
Tyre foam is crap, I waited and got dropped to a tyre company with some Michelin super sports

I bought a full size spare wheel from a forum member on here after seeing a guy with a flat tyre on an A3 make a complete mess with foam (and it didn't inflate it).

I got a fitted cover for mine which has Velcro pads on the bottom that stop it sliding around on the boot floor.

I've got a 19" space saver on an Audi rim, which I keep in a bag in the boot at all times along with a torque wrench and a deep 17mm socket, and I modified the foam in the spare wheel well to take a standard A4 jack

Be aware of unsecured loads in the boot. In the event of a crash these unsecured loads become a weapon for any passengers in the back.
There's pictures online of the sort of damage they can do; take a look, it's quite horrific what can happen.
I know you say it's velcro' d but that won't stop it flying forward. I'm guilty of this too with my subs and amps that really need to be strapped down properly

Yeah they look great. But least we are moving :big blink:
I have the foam in mine, but honestly I'm dreading the day I get a flat...

It'll be the same as RIV - a flat bed I reckon.

You know, I'd never thought about that Mike. Even more dodgy as mine's an Avant
Will have to give some though as to how to make it more secure.
Geordiejay - got the cover off eBay. Sorry, can't remember the name of the seller/company. And should have said, it's a 19" space saver rather than a full size wheel.

Same reason I always put my 205 GTis disklock in the boot rather than be tempted to put it in the passenger footwell....... if I smash / roll the car and the crash doesn't kill me, that weighty fuucker hitting me in the head would do!!

Got the wheel from the local Audi dealer, and had the tyre supplied & fitted by the local F1 Autocentre, then get the bag off eBay.

P.S. I do strap it down to the load hooks!
