Inlet manifold flap bolts ate the engine.

That looks expensive... :(

I'm going to go out on a limb and say someone got a carbon clean and it wasn't bolted back together properly. Lasted a few K's but... then something gave up/worked loose :(

This is a great reason to deflap whilst getting a clean and remap! :D

That's a good case for de-flapping the inlet manifold!!

I'd say get a quality job done if retaining the flaps as in mine.
All done at MRC with no nuts and bolts falling of at high revs.

They maybe did do a quality job, these bolts could just be a one off.

Well that's well and truly fcuked it!

I do love how it's not damaged the valve train at all, just ruined the rest of the engine!

Whilst on this subject of flaps. I have all the bits to a clean but don't have the funds at the moment for a trip to MRC for a remap. Question is can I remove the flaps now for a remap later or not. Will it effect running without them ? I was going to leave the motors hooked up to avoid a CEL, would that work ?
