Lukes3 what tools and solvents did you use to get into the valves to give them a good clean? and do you have a list of seals and gaskets you bought/replaced. Thanks

Im not that handy but i will forward this to my friend and make him do it :beerchug:

It's not likely to be oil directly - people have installed catch cans and found nothing.
It could be valve stem seals and be interesting to see the difference between the B7 and B8 versions.

End of the day, combustion is never perfect so you will always get some element of carbon soot. Along with the other compounds this will stick to the intake valves.

Star Performance in Fife, was about £700ish I think. Closer than MRC for me. Had it done at 123,000 so was due one although it was idling issues that prompted me to finally get around to doing it.

Apparently they have seen a few S6 V10's with carbon build up so bad that it causes erratic idling as well so not just a B7 problem.

Certainly feels quicker, will do some 3rd gear tests to see what times the old bus can do.

Collected the car this morning and have put a tank of fuel through her so far...All I can say is WOW..the difference is unbelievable, my car must have been massively down on power as it goes better than it ever has, it pulls so much better especially top end of the rev range, the noise from the engine sounds completely different..well worth getting done..
