Is everyone's badge tattered? Mine looks terrible after 5 years. Looked terrible at 3 years frankly.

Tim, if you do that would be great - £10- £15 is fine - but £40...
This was the seller on ebay. It was a couple of years ago. They where sold as RS4 steering wheel emblems.
£14.99 (which is also far to much money for a piece of plastic, but heh)

May be worth dropping him a line to see if he’s got / can get, any more.
(under his history it shows he was shifting a lot of various manufacturer badges)

Just the red square portion of the RS logo on mine - the rest doesn't tickle my OCD too much...

Just waiting for the 'S' button to peel..

Finally got my badge from flea bay for GPB$34 from Germany, genuine part !

Tonight tried to install and I have a problem:
1. the previous owner seems to have done it before and fitted 2 screws that are threaded and trapped rotating inside... :bash: :bash: :bash:
2. one side of the trim looks glued... :knob: :bash:

So for those that have replaced it before, can I please ask how tight the trim was put together and how much force do i need to pry the two metal parts apart ? I'm tempted to use a fishing wire and see if i can cut through the glue...any other suggestions ?

I tried to remove that silver trim before and it was a real PITA :audibash:

Screws wouldn't wind out and ended up damaging the plastic trim trying to separate the two halves :bash:

In the end I had no option but to order a complete new replacement trim.

Goodluck!!!

I'm also borrowing plastic trim pryers from my friend since the paint is very soft and the back around the screw holes are chipped when i tried to yank the screw out...lucky it's at the back so can't see it !!

Just got one of these pictured from TPS for £22 next day collection from Old Kent Road. I'm sure last time I called they were £33 so better than I thought. Maybe good for the guys doing steering wheel retrim at Royal

be careful if you buy online ( well to a certain extent) as i brought one for mine on ebay £29.99 free delivery was a genuine part but listed for my year but was obviously a newer one as the tabs on the back didnt line up with the little holes on the steering wheel so i had to cut them off then glue it in.

just a fore warning :D

Yes thank you that is what I am expecting with this one I have ordered. I could be wrong but I believe these are B5 badges or like you say its a case of some fit and some don't. Wherever I checked, the badge for the B7 wasn't sold separately and only with the aluminium trim (which cheapest I found was £73) and someone mentioned power66 on ebay having badges that fit the B7 but they were 60 odd pounds and in that case its better to get the trim as well. I am hoping this will fit if I am lucky, if not like you say take the clips off and stick it on. Amazing how such a small thing can bug people with the paint peeling off, it didnt with me until recently and if I tried to do a DIY job I can guarantee there would be so much mess it would have been cheaper buying the trim :-) I liked the idea someone put on this or another thread to laquer the badge before installing to protect it being scratched easier. I might do that

I put some 3m ventureshield over my new rs4 steering wheel badge, before putting it on... a bit OCD but stops the wear ;)
