Insurance -Just got surprisingly low quote

I know insurance is so dependant on individual circumstances but even taking into account I am an insurer's safe bet:-
Old(but not too old) Git, Low annual mileage <6kpa, relatively low cost postcode, parked on drive, full no claims, no mods, etc etc
Churchill have just quoted me £161 for my B7 avant for next year. Wahoo!!! :D That's not even 2 full tanks of V-b***d
Includes breakdown and courtesy car as a no cost option for the 1st year with a relatively low £500 excess - I keep reading the quote details to check they or I haven't made a mistake
I had heard car insurance premiums where softening a little but I guess they must be doing this as a lost leader, anyone else managed lower than that?

not lower but about the same.

I guess one aspect is as the value of the car is so low it's more cost effective to write off rather than pay big Audi repair bills with the inevitable RS tax.

A good way to evaluate the kind of area you are in... get a quote for driveway and another for garaged.
If drive is cheaper then a good area (as it means statistically more likely to have something drop on the garage than a scumbag do anything on the drive).

A high level of penalty points won't help either

That might be cheap but come payout time will they play ball - I'd rather spend a little more with a reputable company IMHO [just my 2p worth]

There aren't really any reputable insurance companies imo. They all have the same objective to dish out as little as possible come claim time. Also an element of luck with the assignment of claim handlers.

Plan for a battle whoever your with :)

the only other thing worth paying a little extra is the 3rd party cover on driving other cars.

weirdly my insurance renewal has gone up over £100? I thought they may have made the RS higher risk due to all the break ins etc? went on a comparison site too and yeah they are all way more than this time last year. none of my details have changed at all.

Ours was £298 with Swiftcover on auto renew. That was £20 LESS than last year so I didnt quibble it.

Having read about sub £200's now I realise I made a huge mistake and should have shopped around again. Wont make the same error next year!

Paul.

I'm 37 in a A rated postcode area, but with 6 points. £315 here. Feel a bit ripped off now reading this :( :biggrin3:

I can confirm that Insurers don't seem to like "Water Meth Injection" as a mod
