I remember maybe 2-3 years ago on here there was a lot of work done on the oil separator and catch cans and the outcome was .... no noticeable difference between people who had removed the oil separator and fitted a catch can, and those who left the OE oil separator in place.

It's not an issue of oil being sucked into the inlet manifold, it's an issue of combustion products being blown back into the inlet manifold.

And since I've been reading also possibly being sprayed with fuel mist.
(this coats the valves with sticky fuel but not enough for the detergents to work)

I agree I consider this regular maintenance perhaps every 15k - 20k miles. All the reputable companies can do this kind of work in a couple of days. I had mine done at MRC in a day along with a stage 2 [allbeit a very LONG day!] -

The best way to stop Carbon Build up.
Fuck1ng hoof the b4stard at every opportunity and have a quick clean at MRC when the power drops !
These cars ain't cheap but they make you smile !
