Brake pads for ceramic rotors

Post by Fredd » Tue Jul 15, 2014 7:53 am

Hi
Just got warning light for the pads, I hope its the rear but might as well be front and I got ceramic..
Are there any aftermarket front pads available ? I have searched but only find for steel rotors.

Just took the hit on KW V3 this weekend and not this... expensive summer

I am pretty sure only the fronts have wear sensors so it will likely be these. On the regular pads it wasn't uncommon for the wires to break so it would be worth checking the actual pad wear before buying replacements as the wires may just need by-passing to correct if the pads aren't past it.

I didn't get a warning light when my rears needed replacing earlier this year.

Out of curiosity, how many miles have you done on the ceramics?

My B5 RS4 had wear sensors in the back, just changed them two month ago. Maybe B7 don't have that then

Think this is the right SKU but not totally sure 4E0698151G, Saw that ECS had them for 380$ and I was quoted 500 Euro from local audi dealer

Ok. They seem to be gone from there.

Try Europaparts.com
They are US based and I've never used them.
But they have hawk ceramic for $254 which seems pretty good

Only decent price I've found is currently in the USA which I've roughly calculated to cost £300 including duties. I haven't properly researched suppliers yet though, as there is still about 10-15 thousand miles left in my pads.

I got mine from Trade Parts Specialists for £314.16 including vat.

My old pads still have at least 6mm of friction material left on it. If anyone is interested, pm me with an offer.
