Looking for a B7 RS4 - What to look for?
Looking for a B7 RS4 - What to look for?
Hi Guys!
I am looking for a RS4 B7 Saloon
I have seen one that I'm slightly keen on, but the colour is Avus Silver, I personally like the colour but not sure if it is good when coming to resell.
Also what to look out for?
And a lot of RS4's have mileage above 80k now, even 90k on some cars, are these cars okay to buy?
Any help would be great.

+1 it's the best place to start. The pistonheads guide linked in that thread is good as well. Come back when you've read bothPetrolDave wrote:First place to look is the Buying Guide sticky thread http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?t=90255

Avus looks great. Especially with matt dark alloys.
Milage: as has been said on here manys-a-time, milage really isn't an issue with these engines. I'd have greater hesitations buying a low milage one.

I have had a read, very helpful.
IS Avus silver rare in RS4 B7?

I think it was 3rd or 4th most popular colour after black, Daytona and sprint
It's a great colour in the flesh, changes with the light. Pictures don't capture it
If u can find am example that's had the big bills paid already, DRC, brakes and carbon clean that helps
Good luck

Also worth checking aux rads and oil cooler for leaks/replacement as they're both known weak areas.hlbeckley wrote:If u can find am example that's had the big bills paid already, DRC, brakes and carbon clean that helps.

I personally wouldn't worry about mileage massively aslong as service history is pretty good
Mine is up for sale at £15995 by the way and it's not cat C or D. Very straight and well priced

Re: Looking for a B7 RS4 - What to look for?
Mine's not for sale but just tipped over 80k and is immaculate. I wouldn't worry about that mileage on a car that has been loved, and I wouldn't touch a low mileage car that hasn't.
I didn't buy a forum car, found this place afterwards, but if I was looking again I would hold out for a forum car in good condition over something from a dealer. And as TAB1S said, youngben's car is more than worth a look.

Seriously? Ok, so far everything has been handed to you. Go to the sale section and work it out yourself. It's not hard. He's got 'Ben' in his username.muh11b wrote:What colour is ben's car?
