Ha! I'll gloss over the score for those rims then!

Ah, the sight of fatter tips from the rear can only mean one thing...

Fret not, my 8 (turned 8 the day before) and 5 year old boys are coming -they are proper petrol heads and love a V8! If anyone has a R8 on the plot my 8 year old can sit in, trust it'll make his day...

So Nick, the wife is coming... I simply can't fathom the maths on this - is it really Mrs M's RS4? You can tell us - it'll be a secret - forum promise!
Gone but never forgotten:

LED's all round and Dectane LED tailights. KDS detail and paint. Lepsons black chrome, heavy on the silver wheels. JCWeldFab full system - valved and no pre-cats. MRC stage 2, de-flap and full carbon clean - 438PS and 489NM. HEL brake lines. H&R Spacers. Gtechniq C1 and EXO V2 coatings. 2010+ RNS-E. On the MRC dyno: http://youtu.be/y_k0VJ2--y8

How could you think such a thing. I'm wounded by the notion :ban: as mrs M is an accountant the maths don't add up for her to have an RS4, mpg, running costs and all that nonsense where as I don't care about mpg or running costs as I apply proper calculated man maths :biggrin3:
Isn't HYFR going to AITP, hasn't he just got an R8 Spider ?

You can let your 8yr old sit in my Avant so he can realise what a proper RS4 should be :bigblink: :kissmyrings:

Ha, a man algorityhm after my own heart! It's one 'expense' that's kept under wraps and away from the calculator!

Yes, he is and he has. I fear that new Capristo though may scare my youngest

Ah gee thanks. Whilst you are at it, my 8yr old loves the smell of freshly baked bread. Would you still have that aroma lingering around the interior from your latest early morning delivery? I'll take a sliced brown wholemeal whilst your at it. :bigblink: :assflash:

Had a Hunter 4 wheel alignment done on the car today. Took them 2 hours - very thorough. They check the camber, castor, toe, and loads of other things I don't understand

Not out by much on any corner. The guy said some cars the get in are scaringly out!

Out of curiosity how much did they charge you for the Hunter alignment if you don't mind me asking ?

Will you be taking the phone number off the side of the Taxi before you go to AITP, wouldn't want to get a call out !! :bigblink: :beerchug:

I've noticed on the list that are going to AITP that a chap called Paul is going with a couple of R8's maybe you could ask one of them :jump:

It was £78, which I thought was reasonable for 2 hours.

Noticed the Mk 2 Escort on your profile, have you still got it?

Agree the price is acceptable, but I wonder how long it would take them if it was massively out.

Thanks, sadly no I wish I still had it though, would have been worth a fortune it was my first car. 1750 crossflow with a 1300 gearbox, 1600 rear Diff & axel and a shortened 2.0ltr prop shaft, it used to monster RSTurbos upto a ton with ease, ran out of oomph at about 115. Should really tidy my profile, it basically reads as all the cars I have personally owned in order from 1st to current, not including company cars

Bagged please!!! Sliced thick if you can.

Yes yes yes! The cabbie number is coming off before Aitp! In the same way the Funeral Directors details is coming off yours! :beerchug:

It's not even the 10 August and the banter has started!

I'm sure my boy will find a R8 to sit in, no doubt. He'll tell me the virtues of ownership all the way home too and how an R8 would look cool on the drive :/

Obviously longer, which would be reflected in the price, but I wouldn't expect massively so as the guy working on mine had to adjust almost all settings on all 4 corners, and some of the bolts were very tight. It's a more lengthy process than the usual tracking you get checked at your local tyre fitters. I chose the Hunter system as it was recommended by folk on PistonHeads as the most comprehensive system for road going cars.

Sounds very nice; Good spec. have a real soft spot for the Mk 1 and 2 Escorts and have a '77 Mk 2 two-door. Spent some time looking for a good one; there were a lot of sheds around, especially 'genuine' RS2000s and Mexico  Mine's running a Rover V8, 5-speed, turreted Bilsteins and a Scimitar LSD. Don't use it much now though so it'll be going next year (had promised 'er indoors that it would be sold 18 months ago when I bought the RS4 )

That must be quite a handful, a definate case of a dab of oppo. I wouldn't sell it, I'd store it for a few more years and let the value increase, I remember seeing a 2 door on eBay running a cosworth lump go for £40k a few years ago.
I too have a soft spot for MK1 & 2's especially in full rally spec, there was a few on the RAC classic at the WRC rally in Wales last year sounding awesome

And it's a bakers van not funeral directors, better smell you see :biggrin3:

Imagine what it will be like on the 10th :beerchug:
