Exhaust Auditions (Yorkshire & North East)

Post by drmanhattan » Wed Jul 02, 2014 1:56 pm

Finally one of my exhaust valves has seized so I can take the plunge on a cat-back sports exhaust. Whilst I have done as much reading as I can bear (there is a lot on this forum alone), I am never going to be able to make a final decision based purely on written recommendations and YouTube clips of different exhaust systems.

Is there anyone out there in the B7 RS4 family, ideally in Yorkshire or the North East, who would be kind enough to meet up / let me visit them to see what their cat-back sports exhaust sounds like in real life? Ideally that will be the only mod your car has, since then it will be the same as mine in other respects.

For info, I am currently thinking non-resonated / valved, but if there is a resonated / valved system which is a significant improvement on the standard exhaust note without being drony then I'd consider that too. I am considering JC Weldfab along with usual suspects Milltek.

Thanks folks.

Bugger - I was In Whitby at weekend.

I have a full miltek with 100 cel cats and down pipes.

It's loud. But it does sound awesome.

Whichever you go for you will need a panel filter and a remap.

There will be plenty on show at AITP if you can venture a little further south.

Rick,
I live about 2 mins from Blyton Park. I would be keen to pop down on that day too. The car would still be cold on arrival! Let me know when something concrete is sorted and I will do my best.

Paul.

Blyton Park sounds like a good chance to see a few at once (do you know how many B7 RS4 owners are doing the mini-meet?) - looks like its a toss up between that and Elvington on 27th!
