When I was walking back to my RS4 parked in a local supermarket yesterday I found a couple of lads looking over my RS4....

"Oy Mister, is dat a S4?" - "No, it's a RS4"
"How fast you had outa it" - "VMAX? - An indicated 170MPH at a private circuit"
"wow - what engine is it" - "A 4.2 V8"
"is it petrol" - {Thinking to myself - WTF} - "Uhm yes"
"What engine is it?" - "A 4.2 V8 - here take a look" {opens bonnet to gasps and comments of : 'Is that a V8'} - "Yes it's a V8" {Yoof takes pics}
"Is it front wheel drive" {Fcuk are you kidding me} - "No permanent 4 wheel drive"
"Nice motah mista - give it a rev when you start it" - "OK lads - see you later"

Ahh bless em! :assflash:  :drink:

That's what you get for shopping at Aldi.

If you hadn't bankrupted yourself with that interior you could still be shopping at Waitrose.

I had similar - NhS blood van pulled up at side of me and said that sounds awesome mate - give it a little tickle for me. He then pipped as I drove off.
Was a bit embarrassed tbh - not sure why!

Then on Monday on way to heathrow 2 lads in a DS3 came past in fast lane and the passenger was banging out the window with a big SLR camera taking shots of the car - I wouldn't mind them tbh.
Thumbs up and He got off at next junction.

They attract a lot of attention - much more than my old 911 which I thought had much more road presence - clearly not!

Happened to me too. Some lads hanging out the side of a hatchback "What engine that got geez"? 4.2 V8 I say. "Na, prove it has"! 'S' button pushed, dipped clutch and a few throttle blips later and they were grinning demonically so I figured I proved it was a V8?

Ha ha!!! Yeah it's totally weird, in a good way, much to the constant surprise of my Mrs, if she's been good and I allow her to sit in the big seat!!

People actually stop in their tracks and stare around these parts, as I don't know of any other RS4's in the valley.

The other day a group of Scandinavian lads stopped walking as I got in the car, I say Scandinavian as they all had blond hair! They gave it the international boot it signal, so I was more than happy to oblige, started the car, sport button on and foot to the floor!!!!

I left behind a group of smiling Scandi's standing in the middle of the road for some reason!!! :biggrin3:

I have not long had the rs4 but so many people look at it compared to the s3,even tho the s3 had been modified the rs just seems to have so much more road presence.

I collected my two boys from school this week - they all got in and naturally they argued about who was going to press the 'Start Engine' button. It cracked up, as I checked my rear view mirror to reverse out of the parking space, the entire car park had stopped in their tracks and was staring at me with a look of WTF is THAT... The noise easily attracts as much attention as the looks...

Oh no - my fridge is connected to the internet and I have an on-line Harrod's Food Hall account. The maid just orders on-line when we run short and we have a dedicated driver deliver produce in a refrigerated Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. I was only at the 'ghastly supermarket' to collect something for a friend ....

Since having the RS, various comments from my neighbours

"You have the car I have always dreamed of having"

"Terry any I know when your in the noisy car because our kitchen table vibrates"

" I love that boom noise when your car starts"

"You can tell that's a V8 when your passing"

"You love working on that car car don't you"

"Why are you always working on you car?"

" has it broken down?"

" never seen you working on your other cars"

" high maintenance these?

" how much to fill that up?"

"Bet that's fast?

And so it goes on, it follows any where you go in these cars, people know them, they want to know them, they want to own them, we have a piece of motoring history

+1

My son's teacher approached me the other day and asked "how my career change was going?"

"Errrm sorry, I'm confused" I responded.

"Oh, your son mentioned you have given up work and all you do is change things on your car and clean it..."

Cheers son...
