Just hit 100k

Post by watts6087 » Wed Apr 23, 2014 5:31 pm

I was not pleased when i seen the clock turn to 100k!
I am in two minds on what to do! Shall i keep it until its worth hardly anything..
Or sell it now and get a GTR R35 or RS6 C6.

What do we all think is best :).
To be fair i do love my car tho!

Why what happens when you hit 100k? Does it explode?

Keep it bro - mine's just hit 50k miles and still loves being driven hard (pig when cold though but I see that as a character trait).

My current (5th) B7 is on 100k.

The previous.

1. Bought @ 65k sold at 75k
2. Bought @ 18k sold at 23k
3. Bought @ 50k sold @ 55k
4. Bought @ 50k sold @ 55k

My current 100k car feels stronger than all of them!

I do know what your mean - but you need to think that if you can really replace the RS4 with something else that will fill it's boots then go for it. Every few months I think, I would like a Porsche turbo or a GTR or even a new RS4 - and then I go for a drive and remember why I love my car so much. For me I would rather spend the money keeping the car tip top with good servicing, paint and mods to keep it fresh [hence why I just sold a kidney to pay for my interior!] - cars always loose money. Period. It's about the pleasure of ownership.

I don't get all this worrying about mileage especially once your near the 100k mark, you might as well just enjoy it

^ Even more reson to keep it. Unless you just want an excuse for the R35 or C6.

Personally I do not understand the stigma with 100k cars nowadays. I'm pretty sure they don't feel the same in Europe when they hit 100k km (62k miles) or 160k km( 100k miles). Doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

I'm on somewhere near 80k, expect to still have it at 150k - there is nothing out there I can see that is as fun to play with, I like the look of, that also works as a proper family car. My brother in law is a mechanic and is of the view that the rs4 practically has a truck engine I.e. Will go and go and go.

What I spend keeping the car in good condition is far less than the depreciation cost if I chopped it in for something new, so I see it as a good investment.
