How low can you go

Post by Covkiller » Sun Apr 20, 2014 5:18 pm

I'be been wondering about dropping my car even more on my KWv3's. Not interested in air shocks but I am interested how low other RS4 B7's ride.
My heights are measured from ground to top diameter, 12 o'clock, on my wheal arches:
  • Front 64cm
    Rear 65cm
:greyrs4:
May the lowered be with you, brethren
RS4 B7, Mugello Blue, K&W V3 & HR ARBs, set up by Centre Gravity, Milltek Valved Non Res & cat bypass pipes, BMC air filter, braided hoses, DOT 5.1, Terraclean, MRC Full Carbon Clean, MRC remap 448PS 477NM, 20" S7 alloys with 4mm spacers & Hawke spigots 66.6 > 57.1, AP Racing front discs. Sold Sept 2019. Now rocking an F80 M3

I've never measured mine and it's sitting on gravel at the moment so can't measure it but it looks like this:

Also measuring this is subjective as actual height will vary with different tyres i.e if I swapped my 265/30/20 for 255/30/20 the distance you are measuring will be lower (and there'd be more clearance) although the suspension hasn't been altered in any way.

That's cheating Mike, you're on 20s :)

In all seriousness though, that looks pretty low haha.

I'd love to set mine a bit lower but lots of nasty speed bumps/terrible roads here in London. V3s here too.

It was a 2.0i Ghia with full Cosworth body kit and wheels. My first car was a fiesta that I kept for a year to build up a little no claims bonus then bought that Sapphire. Back in those days it was £4k a year to insure a Renault 5 turbo and they wouldn't even insure me on a real Cosworth. I spent 6 months hunting for a perfect example and 6 weeks later somebody drive into it outside my house. I was gutted.

My wheels are the 20" RS5 alloys (as now found on the new RS4 too),
I just had a quick measure but not entirely accurate as hard to judge when it's sitting on gravel, but I saw 65 at the front and 61.5 at the rear.

I measured mine when the car was in the garage last night. The back and front were not as far apart as I first thought. There was 1.5" difference but I can't rememebr the exact numbers, think it was something like 61.5 at the rear and 63 at the front.
