Little B8 love

Well I wanted to add a little freshness to the B7 and came across a full set of door switchs for the B8. Well I studied the pictures of b7 & b8 switches and the looked the same bar the rear lock window switch.

Anyway I orderd a set, which took the best part of a month to get here but with a spare door card I test fitted them and low and behold they went in. I think they look good and bring a little freshness to the interior.

looks nice but you need to replace the (scratched) door trim in my opinion otherwise the nice little touch with the switches is offset by the scratches in the vicinity....I am a bit ocd over stuff like that tho lol

Did you have to trim / grind anything from anywhere? I tried installing the b8 switches but they rub the sides of the little slots they sit in meaning it's not a smooth operation. Shaving the slot 1/2mm would fix it but I backed out before that and reverted to the b7 switches again.

What did you do?

Drivers side need a little (and I mean a little) trimming for the rear window lockout switch to fit in and the others required a little shaving with a dremel to allow smooth action of the switch which is unnoticeable.

Where's the carbon handbrake cover from?

Handbrake was bought on ebay (Item Number 251421266506) but the seller (relak) dose not seem to sell them anymore but Argon does them just may take a while to get one.

Did you trim the switch itself or the switch panel receptacle thingie?

I trimmed the door card surround where the switch lives.
