RS4 B7 2006 - Different thread question

Post by WilkinsonRS4 » Sat Apr 12, 2014 12:45 am

Here's one I need help with that's not been seen before!!
I've fitted spacers (20mm) on my car from previous owner and I've just noticed my rear NS wheel protrudes further out than my NS. Checked spacers and they are defo the same width!
Any ideas how this is and if I'm facing further issues??
Weird I know but on close inspection it's defo right what I'm implying!!
Advise guys!!???

Different offset wheels? Rear subframe not centred? Are the spacers sitting correctly centred on the hubs?

Cut and shut?

Do you mean nearside rear sticks out more than nearside front? Or nearside rear and offside rear?

If nearside rear and near side front then you are supposed to use different size spacers front and rear.

Sorry mate, NS Rear protrudes out more than OS Rear and all my spacers front and rear are the same!

Any ideas it's got me puzzled

I think the front spacers are normally 8mm and the rears 10mm with standard ET29 wheels but others on here can confirm.

Bit odd at the back though. You can take the rear wheels off and check the offsets are correct. They should both have ET29 on them if they are the standard 19's. Are both tyres the same size as well?

Are the hubs free of corrosion?

Stick some pictures up if you can.

Most odd. Get it up on a ramp and have a good look.

Loving the yellow brakes though!

It's not uncommon. Lots of cars are like this, particularly cars of a certain weight and torque, not a lot you can do about it except keep your suspension components checked and get alignment done twice a year.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Mine was like this and I only noticed when I fitted my new wheels. Rear sub frame was off about 3mm. I went and got tracking done and they said it was spot on. Was only when we did a full sub frame inspection that we noticed it was slightly out. Took it to work, chucked it on the ramp and adjusted it my self. Perfecto now abd only took 10 mins.
