What's the correct oil for the rs4 b7 5w40 4w30

5W30 in europe and for some unknown reason its 5W40 in US , both have the same cold start 5W and i suppose it your hard on it maybe 5W40 might be an idea as it will stay thicker at higher temps and possibly may reduce the oil consumption a tad as the viscosity is higher ,but dont see the need really just get oil graded VW 507.00 , Casrtol edge , Mobil 1 Millers CFS os such like , i would be more concerned on how long you leave it in there , i change it at 3-4000 miles , oil is cheap engines are not , fuel dilution is the possibly the issue with me as it lowers the viscosity, mine is supercharged and gets used hard a lot and runs the risk of fuel dilution more than normal due to the exrtra fuelflow and richer mixture at full load , so i,m sending in an oil sample to get analysed after its 4000 mile oil change to see if everything is hunky dory ....
so vVW 507.00 spec oil 5w30 or 40 will do :thumbs:

I heard 5w30 may cause rattle in start up in morning on audi sport form

No not on our engines , thats the S4 v8 which has a totally different timing chain set up

Ok I just brought she'll hellex off the Opel oils site you are telling me about as this is what I used last 2000 mile

5w 30 every time. It's the only oil Audi recommend.

I use Fuch Titan GT1 Audi sae approved 5w 30.
