DIY. I've done Brembos before so thought I'd attempt these too. In my usual style I didn't wait for an answer so just went ahead and bought paint and new decals lol.

Car made 330hp at AmD earlier in the week - it's in for a decoke and vac fix so I'm hoping tonight/tomorrows drive will be much more entertaining than delivering it there!

I have lots of stuff waiting for it on its return - full service items (plugs, oil, filters, pollen etc) and diff/gearbox oil etc. going to be a busy weekend! I treated myself to a genuine ross-tech HEX+CAN so I can keep an eye on things, and treated the car to a centre armrest for when I get the nerve to attempt a retro-fit. I've also got a new RNSE on my ebay watchlist with plans for a video input etc - watch this space...

I've also got some plastidip to see how that works out on the grille and possibly the window trims - but again, more nerves needed for that so may put it off.

I do need a bit of help please with a couple of things:

1. I'd like some spacers to space the wheels out just a little. Looking at it I think I will want 8mm on the front and 10mm on the rear. But I just don't trust ebay. where can I get everything I need? Presumably need new bolts etc too?

2. The front drivers side door has dropped a fraction - it's barely noticeable but the silver trim doesn't line up properly with the rear door and I notice it. Is there a simple fix or am I in for a horrible shock?

Thanks all for reading and for any help!

Which doesn't look like much until you realise someone had disabled TPMS (thanks!!!) so I didn't notice until the tyre was like this:

Well that's the start of my raspberry pi install done.

Now have a video/audio input on the rnse and a raspberry pi with usb 1tb hdd installed. Limitless possibilities now - the pi is controlled by xbmc app on my phone (connected to my iPhones wifi hotspot) and you can watch or listen to anything on the hdd now.
Because the pi is on wifi to my phone, can even stream audio over the web love (like 1xtra or watch iplayer etc) if I wanted.

That should keep the wife happy on longer journeys and the music choice is going to be awesome :)

Also got the car back from AmD today - dropped off at 334bhp and given back to me with 435bhp. Turns out a previous owner had the car remapped and it's not documented anywhere in the cars paperwork. What a huge result.

Can't recommend them enough.

To answer your earlier question anout spacers give Virdee a shout. He is the resident expert on here and probably supplied over 90% of spacers on here, everytime with the correct ones too (especially after people have tried elsewhere first and had trouble).

Good shout on the pi. I have one with xbmc in the garage. I built it to play about with as a home media server but soon realised that it will not pass through high def audio like DTS HD MA so no good to me. I thought about putting in the car but I wanted to use the screen to control it either by adapting the RNS-E to control it (been done before) or swapping the RNS-E for a touch screen tablet and using that, but whichever way I went for it didn't do all the thing I wanted it to do. I didn't want to use a separate phone / tablet to control unless it was built into the dash.

Thanks mike. I'll do some searching :)

In other news, I managed to respray my calipers this morning and they've come up well. I'll get them done properly at some point, but for 4 hours this AM and a total investment of about £20 they now look like this:
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1399808162.400791.jpg
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1399808170.382696.jpg
Bit "in your face" at the moment as brand new paint obviously but I think in a few weeks with some dirt they'll look just fine :)

Very happy with the result.

Yet another bloody cv boot split today. This time at very high speed so basically exploded and emptied it's contents under the car/over everything.

I think the centrifugal force caused it to catch on the exhaust shield (front offside inner boot).

Can't wait for another £250 or so from hitchin audi lol

Sorry to hear about your CV boot, can you not take to an Independant specialist, they can get genuine parts but labour is half price at least, I was quoted £207 +vat for 1 cv boot and £225 +vat for the other side from Audi, had them both done by an Independant for £205 inc vat using genuine parts

I don't have an Indy near me really - amd would be closest with a 150 mile round trip so bit reluctant to take the trip. I probably should I know but equally want to maintain the audi receipts!

TT Shop are definitely recommended. I get pretty much everything bar the oil change and brake fluid change done with Dave and his team there on Woburn Road Ind Est (bought my car with FASH so have kept it up with Hitchin Audi)
