Ben said mine is on the limit now of what's possible without boost so I'm wondering what we've missed!

Different cam profiles? I remember Doug at MRC commenting that early RS4s had quite different cam profiles to later ones.

That's interesting - I wonder why Audi changed that. And to the extent that would levy 20ps!

Do you have a stage 2 manifold?

Cam and/or Stage 2 manifold would do it...

I have CAF with forge intake pipe, no cats res milltek JHM intake spacers, stage2 manifold although it was still stage 1 when I got those numbers.
Doug said it was a strong engine. That was on fresh Tesco 99. Since then I have had it dynoed on v power with stage 2 and got 450 /504.
So I think if you get a good batch and you've just had a clean with no cats you can get 460 ish.
Car is Oct 2006 with facelift lights and silver bits on dash buttons so not sure which cams.
Daytona Avant - Optics - Titanium pack - MRC 464.6ps 513Nm - H&R ARBs + Springs - Apikol Diff mount - 034 Tranny mount - JHM Shifter

How long between the 2 dynos runs? Just wondering how long it took the carbon thieves to steal your power.

Thanks for that - informative :)

I had 2k miles on mine after a full carbon clean, no cats, no res, milltek, CAF. revolution intake. But don't have the stage 2 inlet or spacers (which Doug doesn't rate but I have thought about). Mine is a March 2007 car. I really must get another run on the 99 fuel then to see what differences are - for another 15ps I'd be tempted by the manifold at the next clean (if I have the car that long).

Thanks for explaining :)

Another excellent Nurburgring trip completed this last weekend :)

I'm too tight to buy another set of photos this month so you'll have to make do with the watermarked versions ;)

My mate Dom driving his first ever lap of the 'ring (eeek!):

Drove there and back without fault except a small leak from a power steering banjo on Sunday but was only a few drops so no issue - being repaired today :)

Car was absolutely epic - I love driving this car on the ring when it's slippery out (first thing in the morning was especially bad) but even in the damp we're pulling sub 10 minute laps now. Low 9 minute laps are consistent now, and with more experience there's a lot of scope for this car to get me round a lot faster.

Changed the pads to EBC yellow stuff a few days before going and what a world of difference they made. Seriously great pads. Mega confidence now even on repeated very high speed slowdowns. Very impressed.

Hopefully squeeze in one more 'ring trip (first weekend of November) weather pending of course. We'll have to see but I'm optimistic.

PS - I've moved the front grille badge now lower after someone pointed it out that it's too high currently so there's no need for anyone to rub it in again :D

looks awesome, I love it there so much, have been twice in the past 6 weeks and already wondering when to go again. Echo your thoughts about driving in the damp and wet in this thing, my mate in his Megane Sport thing was quite tough to get away from in the dry, not in the wet though, easy :) where do you stay when you go? have you eaten at the Pistenklause too in Nurburg?

previous - B6 A4 1.8T S-Line 215PS

What a small world! I have been twice in the last 6 weeks now too!

I normally stay at Burgstube in Nurburg- http://www.burgstube.com/. Martin (manager) is an ex-pat and amazingly knowledgeable of everything local, especially the 'ring obviously.

I was in Pistenklouse just Saturday! Awesome steak obviously!

I was just saying on another forum, it's such easy work getting there and driving in the Audi. Before I had a (400bhp) Peugeot 106, and it was horrible. The drive over there, the stress of reliability issues, etc etc. The Audi just gets you there at high speed, in comfort, does it's job, and gets you home again. Love it!

thanks all for the positive comments about how the car looks etc. The mileage is going up but it still looks an awesome car - even at 7 years old now!
