Help with Colours

I am looking for a Dark Grey B7 Avant :blackrs4:

I have a sales brochure for the B7 RS 4 dated 10/08 2008 model year

In the brochures it shows swatches of available standard colours
it shows 3 Silver / Grey colours: picture below

Avus Silver, pearl effect (light silver)
Daytona Grey, pearl effect (darker than the silver)
Silver, metallic which looks darker than the Daytona Grey

I have only ever seen the Avus and Daytona Grey.

Does anybody know if the Silver which is darker than the Daytona
was produced/used? Or is it a case that some people don't know they have
a Silver Metallic car and just call it Daytona? :(

I'm colour blind so may be wrong... But I certainly wouldn't be using that as correct colours.

For a start, none of those are metallic/pearl, and Daytona is darker than both the Daytona and silver in that image

The black Avant is Silas's old Phantom Black pearl...

The colour swatches, frankly are nothing like the cars in real life if viewing a PDF - the printed brochure would carry far more accurate swatches.

I have a Silver Metallic (5B5B) was indeed used and produced and I would say whilst the swatch looks darker, it actually isn't in the flesh...

Here's mine -

Thanks for ALL your replies

RE neilparf reply. I have the printed brochure and it shows 3 Greys/Silvers
Avus Silver pearl effect, Daytona Grey pearl effect and Silver metallic which looks darkest of the 3.
I understand that the print process used printing a brochure can't match exactly the same colours used
on the cars.
Would just like to know is Daytona the darkest Grey or the Silver metallic?

- - Yep, ignore the sales brochure.

Silver Metallic (5B5B) is a 'straight' silver
Avus is a bluey silver
Daytona is dark grey

Avus is the second best colour for an RS4.

Daytona probably third.

Silver to me was a bit bland looking and masked rather than enhanced the curves.

I'll never own another black car so black for me was a no go.

In terms of darkness, agree with the above. Silver then Avus then Daytona.

There's a sea of Daytona, Black, Avus etc.

Disagree - the silver is rarer as colours go and it definitely does the curves no harm!

I am biased, however...

I arranged to go view a silver avant before I bought my Daytona. All the pics of silver car looked great but the arrangements never came off. Daytona is the one to have there cracking in the right light the metal fleck is great.
