i think rick is talking intake and your talking exhaust danny.
in my original post i thought he had used a intake manifold from an rs5(cause it says rs5 manifold on the dyno chart), but these are twin intake (where the slightly better breathing comes from) but looking at the pics there is only one intake?.
i have heard rumors of someone fitting an rs5 intake manifold with the twin air intake on a rs4 somewhere in germany but never seen pics and i still haven't!.

i did originally think he meant inlet but like you said has the 1 inlet, i was talking about the exhaust manifolds, are 4-1 that much better than out 4-2-1 manifolds to give 40+ bhp?

An interesting post, however I am
confused.com

What mods have the OP applied to to produce this kind of power?
RS5 intake manifold/heads? Different exhaust manifolds?
Are there any more detailed pics (maybe some of the motor
fitted)

Finally, how come no one else has done this as a test (IE Doug ETC)

Thanks - Kev

Hi

If one studies the figures of me, one sees what was changed everything in order to get the 4 - 1 exhaust manifolds mounted.

Around an engine (not turbo) one must optimize specialist knowledge have and also transform the knowledge. :bigblink:

Cryptic thread......

One has changed all to get a 4 - 1 and one has optimized special magic secrets to achieve these figures......

This is kinda what I was alluding to on the other r8 thread.

I have never seen a case where you start off with a N/A engine already putting out around or more than 100ps/litre and then change just the exhaust and intake to jump to over 115ps/litre.
That kind of jump is really really hard... but not impossible. However with stock valves and cams? Nah - just can't see it myself. Esp as the RS4 doesn't have variable lift or duration - as far as I know the engine only has variable intake and exhaust timing. They simply are not going to be doing the right thing and the right time to boost efficiency by 15%.

I have NO IDEA what you are talking about. Why don't you just list each of the modifications so we can all understand - if you can't do that - don't bother posting useless info :bash:

Over here we have seen cars pick up about 50 hp at the crank or 40 at the wheels with jhm tune/jhm full catless exhaust, however were they starting with 100hp/litre?if you believe audi and that the rs4 is indeed 420hp then they gained about 12hp/litre from 100 to 112.

Of course they showed you exactly how and didn't speak in code lol

This thread is a crock. Open element vs stock airbox is <beep>. Maf won't show 440g/sec or whatever he said. Catted Downpipes aren't nearly as effective as catless , and since they're claiming record numbers, we can know that it's bullshyte based on that fact alone. Not going to happen.

The good news is that some people will use this thread to see the uselessness of the dyno as 'proof', and understand why some of us bitch and moan for standardised performance testing rather than pieces of paper written by the guy selling the parts.
