Yellow warning sign

Hi all,

Just went out today and saw this warning signal come on the display. Checked all external lights and they are fine. Looked in drivers manual and no mention of this at all ( unless I missed it).

Has anyone got any ideas?

It's the car saying turn me over :D

In all seriousness, it looks like a headlamp levelling problem. It will probably have thrown a fault code to indicate which end you should be looking at, alternatively you could look for the plastic arms which attach to the suspension to see if they are all in order. There will be one per side and one per axle, I think the front one is passenger side and the rear one on the driver's side.

Covers it pretty much.
Nice one will have a look when it stops snowing.

Pretty sure my rear sender is on the NS on my Avant... but I haven’t been under there for a while, so could be mistaken.

VCDS it first, that will at least narrow down the fault to, sensor, headlight motors, or bulb/ballast. You can start with the cheapest and work your way around.

Im at the ballast replacement stage at the mo. Bulbs can be changed without removing bumper but its a real pita!

I had this sign for me it was the leveling system that went wrong it needed replacing. And then a few months ago I had to go through the self leveling process again could be a few things

I'll have to get it booked into an Audi dealer to get diagnosed. I'm not very technical minded.

Things always go wrong with these things regardless of the mileage!

Yep. I had this sign on my old a4. Was an adaptive headlight problem with mine although no visual problems it flagged up on the Vag Com. Was about £400 to fix just to get the light out.

I still have this on my B7 saloon, Since removing both headlights, prising them open to spray the insides black and fit new bulbs I've had this light on, so its obviously something I've done within the headlight itself. I've put up with it for 6 months so far but now need to replace one of the headlight lamps as it keeps going off when driving so I'm determined to get to the bottom of the cause. Diagnosis machine doesn't bring up fault and yes your correct the symbol isn't in the hand book. :(

Which diagnostic system are you using?
