just thought I'd give a thumbs up to a company I used recently for an alloy refurb on the RS4
my tire fitter had taken a small chunk out one of my alloys when fitting new rubber and immediately (once I'd pointed it out) agreed to pay for a refurb. (it was a tiny mark about 10mm long but on an otherwise brand new looking wheel (had all 4 redone in feb /march), showed up
just to do the job properly I then clipped the same wheel not once but twice on the Eurotunnel so made a proper mess of it!
anyway my tire chappy suggested I spoke to myalloys.co.uk in Basingstoke so off I went and spoke to the very helpful Carl who did a full bare metal strip and refurb service (not just a localised "smart" repair) for about £75 (I didn't pay obviously as the process /work was the same regardless of the damage assuming no welding was needed)
turned it round in 2 days so very pleased with that as had to leave car there (locked up inside secure unit overnight)
so if somewhere like Lepsons is a bit of a trek for you then worth considering these guys as they were knowledgeable, helpful and have done a very good job for what I felt was a very good price

Re: Alloy Refurbishment / repairs
Agreed - I have used them a few times now and been very pleased with the results, they have a good reputation in the local area and there has been some pretty expensive metal at their unit when I have been. There is often a lead-time of a week or more if you need to leave the car with them due to limited storage but if you can just leave the wheel(s) with them it is a little cheaper and they will normally turn them around within a couple of days.
